Impressive!

I wonder if the frame and cab separating increases the survivability of such a bad accident. Think about the energy consumed when ripping those bolts out of the frame (which is what happened in the 2nd one, says the OP).

Possibly, I know that is how the open wheel race cars are designed... just seems a little scary that a cab will come off a truck at 50-60 mph. I could see that happening at 100 mph plus.
They both looked like some pretty nasty wrecks.

Yes but do you have it only to the cab so you break away from danger. Or go to the frame and take all the impact?
