i have decided that i cant keep going forward with things till i catch up with everything behind me.. i have decided that for the most part to make this month "get all the small and half started projects off the way month"
so this weekend i finished up the steel rack that was started quite some time ago. and thanks to Rusty for taking all of my small pieces of metal.. i hope you can find some art in all of that.. Wink

this really isnt anything too special but i am happy its done and all of my steel is off the floor now. i made the rack expandable as well with lots of space in between each size of steel so if i ever need to keep another size in stock than it wont be to hard to do it... it really made for some much needed floor space..

if anyone is interested in the specs of this thing the rack is all made of 1x1 inch square tubing.. each metal support is 6.5 inches long.. there is 9 inches between the bottom 4 levels of shelving and 4 inches between the smaller levels towards the top.. i figured i didnt want this rack to stick too far from the wall and its actually surprising how much steel you can fit on this thing with tons of room to expand..

Impressive rack Laughing Also impressive stock of steel you've got there!

This is a good topic for me because I want to build something similar. I'd also like to incorporate some shelving for shorter and odd sized pieces. I was thinking of using wood 4x4s and drilling in some holes for 3/4" pipe at just a bit of an angle upward to retain it on the rack.

Thanks for posting.
