|
|
So ive done some reorganizing in the garage and im lost as to what to build for a good fab area. I have a good amount of space. Im torn between building a fab table i can move around or go with solid metal bench to work off of. Whether or not to go with a stand up drill press or table mounted if i go with a solid metal bench. Oy the choices.... I want to maximize the space i have. I have 12ft ceilings so not sure what to put over top of the welders. Help me decide guys.

def go metal table. Check out my welding table or Kev's. Both nice. I wouldn't go back to anything else.
I've gone to hanging electrical and air overhead on retractable reels. Love them.
I hated my bench mount drill press. Not enough throat and it was not stable. Go as big as you can with a floor model. _________________ Brad T.

Yes i think im going to keep the welders on the side and run a stainless topped bench along the back wall then have a mobile fab table that rolls under the bench. I have talked myself out of a bench top press for now. I have room to left of the door for a nice stand up one.

Im back on the mobile welding table idea. Was there not a thread about tables? i cant seem to find it anywhere. Im going to hand the one cabinet on the bottom on the wall then make square tube legas with a shelf all along the entire lenght of the wall with a cut out spot for the fridge and shop vac to go. PRob get some steel bent up for a top with sturdy wood layers under it.
I was thinking of mounting the vice on the bench but think a better idea is on the mobile cart. Il weld a few recievers on the stationary bench to move it around if needed elsewhere. |
