lift is on, and now it's time to re-gear to 4.56 up from 3.58!

yukon gears for the front from PORC, and a factory geared 4.56 rear from an 02 tacoma from sgi salvage. front gets done tomorrow at the shop, and i'll be rolling the rear in this weekend.

That is going to be a big change. Are you planning on getting bigger tires?

Yep it's gonna be a big change. the truck is a bit sluggish right now with 31's and i'm getting 33x10.5 bfg m/t's in the spring, so ya i'm excited about the big gear change. Not going to lock it up at this point in time. It's a daily driver so i didn't want to throw an auto locker in, and i want a arb air locker and theres no cash for that, even tho now is the best time to do it. Sad

finally put on my 1" body lift that had been sitting at my house for weeks!

only ran into one small problem...one of the captive nuts broke on the inside of the bed crossmember. so we had to cut a hole to get a wrench on it to get the stupid bolt out. other than that, it went good.

theres where that nut broke loose

body lines look good

all done, looks bout the same as it did before. but now i should clear 33x12.5 no problem.

I've been daily driving an autolocker for probably 2.5 - 3 years already. I love it, hate going back to open differentials. Its just so predictable, once you get to know it.

They are awesome...like kev said...after a while driving on it, it becomes very predictable.

I would never trade mine in.

When driving down circle, like this last week when it was snowy? Driving under the train bridge and attridge overpass my rear tires spun. Not a big deal, it went sideways a bit. You know its coming though, so ease off the gas and it corrects itself no problem.

You'll probably love it, if not, is it that an 8.5" rear? I'll buy the locker from you when I lock my toy axles.
