i've been meaning to build a skid plate setup for my t-case for a long time, and i finally got some time to pick away at it this summer. finally it's done.

i built a crossmember/frame setup that bolts to my slider mounts and extends to my existing tranny crossmember. then bolted a 3/16 skid to it.

looks good!

You might want to consider some drain holes or expanded mesh or something to keep mud and water from sitting in there and rusting away.

I pulled off my box to do some frame and suspension work a couple weeks ago, and slowly i've been making some progress

What i started with:

Removed the old crossmember, and did some rust treatment.

New crossmember with new shock mounts

I removed the old load sensing proportioning valve and i'm putting in this nice manual unit to adjust the rear brake bias.

New shock mounts on the axle and a u-bolt flip.

Next i'm going to put another crossmember further back on the frame, and re-locate my e-brake cable, since my new shock setup is right in the way of where the cable ran previously.

Ya i mentioned this to you the other day karl, and I've pretty much decided that "not all" of the bed is going back on.

Here is a visual of what i'm thinking:

I used to love delivering parts down on faithful just so I could take a detour to look at your truck. Im excited to see what you get done with that box. Keep up the good work.

Thanks man. I'm sure the truck will be back sitting on the street in front of work again this summer.

Got a little bit more work done, not much but it's something.

shortened the exhaust by about 2 feet, now it dumps right in front of the rear tire and the muffler is tucked up a bit higher too.

New Shocks

Had to shorten the brake lines a bit and get them re-flared for a sae fitting to fit on the prop valve. And i picked up a new stainless brake line as well.
