Hey guys. I have been in Antarctica for the last couple month and will be here until March. Just thought that I would show you some of the trucks that are down here. Notice that they are all Toyotas.

4x4

6x6

4x4 with crane up

70 series

They just finished the Antarctic leg. 78 Series has a 1VD-FTV, the Hiluxes are diesel too, probably 1KD-FTV but not sure.

I am not sure what the engine models are. Most of the hilux are the inline 6 but they do have at least one 4 banger that they do not use much as it is under powered. The 70 series is a V8 diesel. It is kinda funny, they sent it all the way here on a plane but used on of the hilux trucks to drive to the south pole. I suppose they didnt want to risk breaking it but im not sure.

I am here doing work for Kenn Borek Air.

Almost reminds me of all the super overdramatized Expedition Overland episodes. I can't even watch them anymore.

According to some of the guys who were working with exp 7, they actually drive it everywhere else they go but the goal was just to get it here for some reason. seems like a wast to me. I would love to have one of my trucks here...but i probably would just fall into a crevasse then.
