Lots and lots of info in these 2 threads below. Read them closely. As far as the auto the a340 works behind the JZ motors. Tcase options are endless you'll have to research adapters or make your own. I've seen chain cases/atlas's and mini truck cases. All depends on your budget and needs for strength.

Thank you very much for your help . I can't wait to really get into this build . I'm just rebuilding the bottom end on the 1j it had one spun rod bearing .
So once that is all fixed and I find out where to get parts from at a reasonable cost I will be getting started on the tranny issue

So are you doing a full rebuild? For the price of rebuilding you may want to look into buying a new motor from JDM source.

If thats not an option I would keep an eye on kijiji or look on www.supraforums.com

Ya I wasn't going to do a full rebuild I'm on a pretty tight budget the top end is in great shape . The last guy spun a bearing in it and put new bearings in it but I don't think he had the crank turned and put std bearings back in and fucked the crank up even more now it is to far gone on the #4 rod journal the rest of the crank mesures perfectly in spec for std bearings so I'm really trying to find a crank but no luck so far Sad
