Hey gang! I've packed up things in Toontown and planted some temporary roots in Thailand. I am going to start a photoblog and post any note worthy Toyota's we find throughout our travels around Asia. I'll mix in a few random travel pictures too. Thanks for tuning in.

We're headed to Japan in 2 weeks. Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 here we come! Just a few pictures to toss on here before that.

Not a Toyota but I want one...

Toyota powered long tail boat.

Japan was nuts! We spent 15 days there splitting up our time between Tokyo and Osaka. The main things I noticed was the level of organization, the cleanliness and the calm demeanour of the Japanese people themselves. From one Toyota enthusiast to others its a cool place to visit, the engineering of the city leaves no wonders as to how they designed such great vehicles, plus they had good food and cute girls Laughing.

It might have been the switch from +35 to 0 degree weather but 15 days was almost too much to handle. The busy lifestyle and small spaces made me feel claustrophobic. Makes a guy appreciate the wide open prairies of Sask.

These are some snaps from the Tokyo Auto Salon. Not many trucks but thought I'd share some of the Toyota sightings. We did 6 hours at the show and seen half the vehicles. I could have spent 2 days there easy.

Not a Toyota but deserved a mention.

More 2jz Stuff

Badass Lexus...

Our friend Maki who lived in Saskatoon with my aunt a few years ago.

More Stuff...

This piece of junk propelled us through a wide open channel south of the island with 12+ foot waves.Rolling Eyes

The view was worth it...

The ultimate expedition rig "Atlanta". Hand built 30 years ago by an Aussie named Laurie Piper who lives down the bay from us. We spent a very unforgettable day aboard this 60,000lbs schooner.

Laurie said the worst waters he encountered was 40 ft waves in South Africa.

I found this Hilux on an island a few hours from where we stay. They use it run cargo in and out of boats. It's sporting a Nissan box made completely out of stainless steel.

"Boat engine" rebuild happening not far from the rusty Hilux. The captain said he was waiting on parts...

Another stainless box.

Land home!...Finally made it back to Canada. We had a great time and would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks for following Laughing

This thing was cherry!

I only found a few Toyota 4x4's in all of Vietnam this was 1 of them.

Vietnam style Toyota build...

Stainless floor!

Sand dune FJ55

Funny I actually found an uglier Toyota then this 55.

Next up was Indonesia the turtle and BJ42 game was strong here.

This was for sale for $9000.00 CAD. Floor was rusted bad, drivetrain was a leaky mess. It's pretty clear BJ42's are worth a good dollar these days anywhere in the world, no matter the condition.

This was the cleanest cruiser I've ever seen. I spent a solid 30 minutes drooling and taking pictures. People thought I was crazy.

Uglier then a 55 or FA1. I have no idea what this is but they were all over Indonesia. Maybe it would be cool with 40's?

Starter issues...

One of faves...

Stumbled across this awesome Toyota showroom down the road from the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
